Yet Again, Pro Islam Media Bias
Big this week: the Chapel Hill murder of 3 Muslims by an atheist. According to the wife of the killer, it was a parking dispute and her husband was mentally disturbed - religion had nothing to do with it. On the other hand, here's Raba Chaudry, a Muslim lawyer in Maryland: "With Three Murders in Chapel Hill, America Must Confront Anti-Muslim Rhetoric."
What anti-Muslim rhetoric?
The killer did make several postings, on an atheist Facebook site, against ALL religions - but, far from being anti-Muslim, he was for the Ground Zero mosque.
On the other hand, the Muslim man who was murdered sent a bunch of anti-Semitic tweets, and Mohammed Abu Salha, father of two of the shooting victims, is a leader in a mosque that hosted a pro-ISIS cleric and was raided for a plot to murder U.S. Marines.
Muslim anti-semitism - that does need confronting. So does murderous violence done in the name of Islam - like the attacks in Copenhagen, just a couple of days ago, at an event for freedom of speech and at a synagogue - like the beheading, by Islamic State, of 21 Coptic Christians (a video has just been released).
Mainstream media bias, that also does need confronting. For instance: "Lars Vilks, the controversial Mohammed cartoons Swedish artist who was in attendance when a free speech forum was attacked by a Muslim terrorist is asked by a CNN reporter if he thinks he is responsible for the attack?"
What do I see? One, the CNN reporter's question - so utterly politically correct (suggesting that the victim of Islamic terrorism is to blame for bringing it on himself) - diverts attention from Islamic ideology as underpinning behavior that is motivated by Islamic ideology. Two, attention to murders almost certainly the result of a parking dispute diverts attention from violence in the name of Islam.
